Because vibrant hues are the essence of the classic Cinco de Mayo décor, the rainbow was our main inspiration. That said, since it’s hard to avoid overkill with the rainbow color palettes, we’ve decided to use colors that are similar to classic reds, oranges, yellows, greens, blues, and purples, while still not being their exact replicas. To this end, we’ve set the ball rolling with a fuchsia tablecloth instead of a red one, and it worked out for two reasons – firstly, because fuchsia is a “kissing cousin” of red; secondly, because this vivid shade can serve as a perfect transition between sizzling reds and refreshing blues. At the same time, there are no limitations with fabrics – whether you go for satin, burlap, or lace, the end result won’t be disappointing. However, if you place top priority on versatility, durability, and budget-friendly price tags, follow our example and dress up your table with polyester.

In terms of table runners, you can skip this part, but additional linens can add visual interest to your setup. For example, instead of a traditional table runner, we’ve layered a few organza chair sashes – an ivory, white, and a red one. The result has gone above and beyond – a few layers of translucent organza have created an ombre effect, which is the main characteristic of the rainbow.

Place Settings

We understand that several bold hues within one color palette can appear a bit overwhelming to the eyes. To prevent the colors from clashing with one another, we’ve set the stage for the dinnerware with our white beaded charger plates, which can beautifully blend in with any color palette. For a rustic touch, we’ve settled on our wooden plates from our collection of eco-friendly disposables – despite being throw-away dinnerware, they won’t put an additional burden on the environment. In terms of cutlery, we haven’t looked any further than our newly arrived rainbow spoons, forks, and knives – made from plastic, they feature ombre rainbow coating, which will instantly win you over, and help you tie together all the colors on the tabletop. Since our cutlery can serve as a means of décor, we’ve used them as an additional accessory to style our red, orange, lime green, and blue polyester napkins. To finish things off, we’ve pulled out our favorite green-based champagne flutes, which are sure to take your champagne-tasting experience to the next level of sophistication.

Additional Accessories

Despite the vibrant appeal of the linens and cutlery, our setup looked a bit “naked” without additional accessories. We’ve decided to opt out of a detailed centerpiece and instead, have gone for our artificial cacti in white ceramic pots – available in frosted green, lime green, and dark green, they have instantly helped us achieve that cohesive appearance. Furthermore, since cacti are a common decoration at Cinco de Mayo events, these exotic beauties have infused our setup with that south-of-the-border flair. To carry on with our cactus theme, we’ve gone even farther and coupled our artificial cacti with our cactus-style candles. For a finishing touch, we’ve scattered a bunch of wooden chips, which beautifully echoed our wooden dinnerware.

Backdrop

As you can see, we haven’t built any backdrop for our setup – our tablescape is perfect enough to be displayed on its own. However, an insta-worthy background will never hurt. For instance, you can use our marquee signs to spell out a sweet CDM-related message and then, style it with our green, fuchsia, yellow, orange, or blue giant paper flowers. In case you have an unsightly wall, which nullifies everything you worked so hard on, feel free to conceal it with the greenery mats or flower wall panels from our extensive collection. Or you can go even farther and assemble a marvelous balloon backdrop – and it’s just one picking from a million other options.
